Suno prompts by genre, each in three moods

By Jesse Meria, HookGenius · Published

These are 48 Suno style prompts copied word for word from Appendix A of The Suno Mastery Guide (September 2026 edition): 16 genres, from UK drill and drift phonk to city pop and amapiano, each written as a core prompt plus a darker and a brighter variant. Each one names a genre, mood, instruments, vocal, mix and BPM. They were written and tested on Suno v5.5.

The full Prompt Pack in the book has 265 prompts: 183 genre prompts and 82 artist prompts, two for each of 41 artists. It comes with the whole 412-page book, on Gumroad for $29.

The formula every prompt here follows (Chapter 1, p. 16):
[genre] + [mood] + [instrumentation] + [vocal style] + [production texture] + [tempo / era]

How do you use these Suno prompts?

Paste one into the Style box in Suno and generate. The prompt sets the sound; your lyrics or song description set the words. Start from the core prompt. If the result is right but the feeling is wrong, switch to the darker or brighter variant instead of piling on adjectives.

Why does each genre come in three versions?

Because mood is the fastest lever you have. Compare the three versions in any genre below: the genre, the core instruments and the tempo range stay put, while the mood words, a handful of timbre choices and sometimes the key move. Reading them side by side teaches you which words change a Suno track and which only decorate it.

Questions

Do these prompts work on Suno v6?

They were written and tested on Suno v5.5. The book’s v6 chapter, measured on the released model, finds that v6 rewards description over parameters, which is how these are written, but these genre prompts have not been re-tested on v6 yet. Buyers get the re-tested edition free when it is done.

Can I use artist names in a Suno prompt?

The book’s 41 artist prompts don’t name the artist. Each one describes the sound instead, by tempo, vocal delivery, production and mood.

Can I use the prompts in songs I release?

A prompt only describes a sound. What you can do with a Suno song depends on your Suno plan and Suno’s terms, which the book’s monetization chapter quotes directly.
